MLS Classes

The Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® offers classes to its members on using the MLS software, List-It. All REALTORS® and their registered support staff are encouraged to attend. There is no charge for these classes. Classes last about 1-1/2 hours.

Usage I: Basics

Learn to make the most of the information and tools available to you! The Basics class provides an overview of the links and information on the List-It Home page, an in-depth look at searching techniques, and program tips.

Note: The Basics class is required before taking any of the other MLS classes, but subsequent classes need not be taken in order.

Usage II: Maintenance & Prospects

Learn how to record and modify property listings (including cloning and provisional listings), using system tools to produce the best results (including photos, maps, and open houses).

Then discover how to use the Prospects system to find properties for your prospects and prospects for your properties. Let List-It work for you!

Usage III: CMAs and Maps

Learn how to use a Comparative Market Analysis, asking the right questions and searching for valid comparison properties, to help your client determine a price or find similar properties in an area. Use the mapping tools to your best advantage, whether searching for properties or making properties available to others.

Usage IV: MLS Data & Marketing

Learn to use listing data, property tax data, and the CAAR agent roster as marketing tools. Includes instructions on using Report Designer to create custom reports, Microsoft Word to create emails, and Microsoft Outlook for emailing..
